Eduardo A. Gamarra is a tenured professor in the Department of Political Science within the School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
He is the former director of the Latin American and Caribbean Center and Director of FIU’s Latino Public Opinion Forum.
As consultant to heads of state, ministers, candidates for political office, and major corporations throughout the Americas, Dr. Gamarra has designed strategic communication strategies and public policy programs as well as conducted market and public opinion polls in nearly every country of the region.
Dr. Gamarra is a world-known expert on politics of the Americas. His extensive credentials include:
- Publishing twelve books and nearly 100 scholarly articles
- Testifying several times in the US Congress
- Writing a weekly column for EFE, the Spanish News Agency
- Advising on issues ranging from foreign policy, strategic communications, campaign strategy, policymaking in most countries in the Americas (the US, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic, Haiti and throughout Central America)
- Advising heads of state around the Americas
